Associate Members

Associate Members are companies or organizations that have an interest in California's energy efficiency industry but do not directly provide energy efficiency products or services. Associate Members can be financial institutions, legal service providers, non-profit groups, educational institutions, and local governments, among others. Associate Membership is not open to individuals, nor is it an option for businesses that are eligible for Full Membership in the Council. Associate Members are granted wide access to the suite of services available to Full Members of the Council, with some key distinctions. Most notably, only Full Members are eligible to serve on the Council's Board of Directors and to vote on Efficiency Council matters, including policy positions. Associate Members benefits include:

  • Interaction with and access to Council’s Full Member businesses
  • Social events to network, discuss industry issues, and hear from leaders from the industry and other related fields
  • Topical seminars and webinars

  • Intern and job posting distribution to California colleges and universities
  • Annual Efficiency Council member meeting
  • Opportunity to support businesses in the growing efficiency industry

If there is any uncertainty as to whether a business or organization would be classified as a Full or Associate Member, the final determination rests with the Efficiency Council’s Board of Directors.
